Lewis Baltz appreciation. This should have happened a very long time ago, in a public place with alcohol, but a quick post will have to do. Very incredible photographs.
I hope no photography experts ever read this because most of it might be made up, but in my opinion, it seems that Baltz perfectly captures the monotony of the fast growing man-made environment in these urban landscapes, whilst at the same time highlighting beauty in simplicity. Scenes of the usually mundane ‘everyday’ become enticing and beautiful despite no single photograph being suggested to be more important than another within his library of work. The smallest things really do make the biggest difference.
Is he in a gallery? I need to find this. With black and white, and everything in between, this must my favourite thing of the moment.
